Tacos

My aunt recently came to visit from the US and she is here for a few weeks enjoying herself. She did go to Melaka of course and probably had her share of durian season. She is a good cook and baker and a really nice lady.

She was so kind to give me some birthday presents like dark chocolate, a baking book and a lip gloss! The dark chocolate will go to my and Liam's sugar craving stash as it is so healthy to snack on. The baking book has really nice ideas. And I always love a new lip colour. Thanks aunty Masie!

She also brought some really cool ingredients too. Like these taco shells and salsa! My mom and I had a fun day making tacos. It's fun to cook and messy and challenging to eat! Such fun!

So my mom and I made the taco dishes in our own simple way. I am sure it could be better and we had limited knowledge of Mexican food. Basically we fried the beef in a pan and added taco seasoning to the beef, simmering until cooked. Then deep fried the taco shells while holding it folded. A challenging manoeuvre but my mom is an expert so it's not a problem.

Lastly we cut some iceberg lettuce and opened a tub of salsa and served it all together. How to assemble it? Basically load the taco shell with the beef, lettuce and salsa in the amount of your choice. Simple as one two three.

The leftovers from dinner I brought to Liam's and we had a nice supper. The beef was nice and good quality, thanks to my mom. I love me a good salsa too. I really enjoyed eating our amateur but yummy tacos!
