Simple Kitchen Setup

Recently Liam moved to a new place and it happens to have cooking facilities... namely an induction cooker. Today we went to a few stores to get equipment and food to set up our kitchen. I love doing this, stocking up a basic kitchen, and learnt lots from my mom over the years.

Below is some of the fresh produce we got and the frying pan and stirrer. From the top row, there are instant noodles, veggies like long beans and bok choy, and the pan and stirrer. The pan and stirrer we bought from Mr. DIY and was an induction pan that is non stick. Just what we needed.

Second row we had ready to eat salad, mushrooms, sliced cheese and eggs. Bottom row is chicken breasts, butter spread and muffins. These are good fresh ingredients, though the veggies won't keep long and have to be cooked in a week, at most 2 weeks. The chicken can be frozen, but we used it today to make mushroom chicken which I will blog about in my next post. The eggs can be kept for a few weeks.

Below are the sauces and spices we bought to cook our meals. These are really versatile and can be used across a range of different dishes!

From left to right is cornstarch, chicken stock granules, salt, coarse black pepper, soy sauce, garlic, olive oil and oyster sauce.

Really these are most of the staples I need at the moment. I think we don't need much else, but maybe a few herbs would be a good addition.
