With Liam's new kitchen I was able to show off more of my cooking skills. Liam was so impressed and he is really grateful for my cooking, which is so nice. He is really easy to cook for and I find myself enjoying it lots.
Anyway, on Sunday I made breakfast and lunch. For dinner we had Texas Chicken and came back for bowl of ready to eat salad. I don't have a picture of the salad though, but it came in a pack, washed, and with salad dressing and quinoa. Good call, Liam for buying it. So yummy.
This was our breakfast. I made french toast. 3 slices. 2 for Liam and one for me. Then I sandwiched the french toast with Nutella, peanut butter and sliced bananas. Thanks to Kong Kong for the bananas from his farm. 😊Below is the recipe. You can add cinnamon, vanilla or sugar but with this simple kitchen setup I didn't have any on hand. It tasted good anyway.
French Toast with Peanut Butter, Nutella and Bananas
Serves 2
Ingredients
- 3 slices of bread
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tsp butter
- Nutella to taste
- Peanut butter to taste
- 2 small bananas or one large banana, sliced
Method
- Crack 2 eggs in a bowl. Beat eggs. Add milk and beat again to mix well.
- Heat butter in a pan.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture and transfer to pan, frying on both sides till cooked and no longer runny.
- Once cooled, spread Nutella on one slice and peanut butter on the other. The person with only one slice will have half slice with Nutella and half with peanut butter.
- Place sliced bananas on one slice and sandwich them.
- Serve immediately.
The next dish I made was instant Mi Goreng with telur mata (sunny side up eggs) and green veggies. So simple to make! It was nutritious with the egg and veg and tasty too. I am glad my noodles turned out al dente. Below is the recipe.
Maggi Goreng Telur Mata
One serving
Ingredients
- 1 packet mi goreng instant noodles
- 1 egg
- 1 cup or more leafy greens
Method
- Make mi goreng according to packet instructions. Set aside on a serving plate.
- Stir fry or boil veggies until cooked. Set next to noodles on the serving plate.
- Crack egg into a bowl. Heat oil in a pan and gently pour the egg into the pan.
- Try to scrape the sides of the egg in as it cooks into a smaller circle.
- Once no longer runny, but still wet yolk, gently lift the whole egg with the spatula and place on top of the mi goreng.
- Serve immediately.
