This past week we had 2 public holidays on Monday (Wesak Day) and Wednesday (Nuzul al Quaran). Also Raya is coming soon which means more holidays. I love long weekends and had a super long one as Tuesday was off for me.
On Monday, we helped Liam's colleague paint her house. It was fun and I was happy to help as the more people helping, the smaller the task seems. We managed to paint the walls and left a little at the top unfinished as we didn't have a ladder. Hope it is resolved soon.
Anyway, Liam's colleague took us out to Klang to eat bakuteh as a reward! What a yummy reward it was. It was one of the best bakuteh I have tasted. However the portion was so small and it was finished within minutes. We were still hungry after that. We did use up lots of energy painting after all.
The meat was tender and juicy and the rice was cooked in oil. The soup was the best part. It was meaty and salty. Yum! Although maybe I prefer more herby bakuteh. But it was still super yummy.
After the bakuteh, we decided to eat Kajang Satay in Klang. It is based on the original Kajang Satay and it tasted similar. Dry meat and a bit chewy, with yummy peanut sauce you can mix with the chilli. We had the nasi impit and cucumber too to dunk in the satay sauce. So yummy. I love the peanut sauce.

Yesterday we went to ss2 to a place that serves awesome char siew. It was a nice place and all the food was so yummy. There was fried foo chuk and sui kow. We ordered siew yuk but I didn't take a pic as I forgot and by the time I realized we had finished it. 😂
Below is the main course we ordered. We each had one bowl of Hakka Noodle with char siew. It was super yum with the sweet, burnt char siew melting in my mouth with all the fat! Omg so good! The noodle was nice too, not too salty. Overall it is very damn good and I recommend this place in ss2.
As usual we went to NZX food court in Ara Damansara and had our yummy laksa. Here is the dish below. The laksa soup is so yummy and once you mix in the chilli and lime it is super aromatic. Also thick and rich.
Here is what Liam ordered at NZX. Sarawak noodles. It is super nice too and I was so hungry I ate some while waiting for my laksa. It has awesome minced meat and char siew on top.
This is the 3 layer tea I ordered. It is quite sweet and has kind of a gula melaka taste from the sugar at the bottom. So fragrant and creamy. Also refreshing.
Overall we had a good long weekend. A good recharge and nice food and activities. Game of Thrones ended and now we have to find something to watch. Let me know any suggestions in the comments. By the way I am sorry if I made everyone hungry with this blog post.
