Yummy food adventures

The past 2 weekends I met up with my now bf, Liam. It's really nice to go out with him and eat yummy Malaysian food. We did eat Japanese food but the Malaysian food was cheap and great. Malaysian food is just so satisfying as I grew up on these flavours. I like to change it up a bit sometimes and eat Western food or cook something simple. Really nice having Liam in my life now as he is a caring, supportive and patient person.

The past weekend, we had Sarawak Laksa at a food court near his workplace. Omg the flavours are so awesome. There were whole prawns in there, and really fresh ones too. I know coz the head was totally intact. There is this paste that you mix into the laksa. I have no idea why it is so good. I just
ate it all with a slurp.

We also ordered some siu mai, which was pretty good too. They were big and juicy.

Okay, more about tosai.... the rolled up crunchy tosai is called "paper tosai" at mamak. My friend Alicia ordered it for me when I met her on Friday. She is a nice Indian lady and took me out to eat Indian food. This is it below. It was kinda white and not really browned. It came with dhal curry, fish curry and sambal.

I tried ordering paper tosai with Liam on Saturday and it was awesome! It was more than a foot long! Was really crisp and browned. It came with dhal curry and coconut dips. It was awesome and took me about 15 minutes to eat everything. It was light though, so I didn't really overeat despite it looking huge. Had nice teh tarik with it.

The weekend before last, we had supper of Hokkien Mee. It was in Damansara Uptown. So yummy. It was awesome. Really well coated with black sauce, delicious and probably nutritious because of all the cabbage and meat. Hokkien Mee is one of my favourite supper dishes.

So those were the highlights of things we ate recently. Sometimes we have simple food too which I like too. Liam doesn't have cooking facilities at his house. So when I "cook" it is usually a sandwich lol. Avocado with cheese and ham, with garlic spread. We also had almond milk with cereal for breakfast.

I have been slacking off on my painting, kind of not really motivated or waiting unsuccessfully for inspiration to hit me. I will have to set up Etsy to sell my paintings. But I don't have many at the moment. Am working on it. Probably won't have time to bake or cook. But we'll see. Am thinking to make an avocado dish soon.

Anyway, thanks for reading and hope Monday is not blue for everyone reading this!
