I love that my bf loves road trips! It's awesome and makes life interesting. This past weekend we drove to Port Dickson and stayed at a super nice Air BNB for one night! It was great and we had a nice time.
The Air BNB was in a kampong area and was near a farm. There were ducks quacking and goats bleating and we saw that those ducks looked like little quails or something, though we didn't see the goats. The hostess was a nice lady and the Air BNB was clean and welcoming. It was a really lovely tiny little house, made mostly of wood and had timber floors. The upstairs floor wasn't open yet so we occupied the downstairs only. The outside was cute and inside was just as cozy.
The roads leading up to the Air BNB were really narrow. I think only one car can pass through at a time so if another car comes head on, it would be one hell of a manoeuvre. Liam drives a pick up truck so he was kinda worried. Haha. But it was thrilling to drive through the narrow roads following the GPS.
We went to the beach soon after we checked in and walked on the sand, strolling around, enjoying the sea air. It wasn't a super hot day and the beach was really relaxing. It was difficult finding parking though as along the road there were already many cars. We picked a spot further along the beach. We wanted to fly a kite as we saw some kites for sale, but there weren't any near where we parked.
We got hungry pretty fast. The hostess said there was a night market near Petronas station, so that was where we went for food. We bought lots of food from the night market and brought it to the beach to eat at the picnic tables! So chilled and nice. There was really interesting food at the night market. Below is the food we decided to chow.
Top row is Ayam Percik, fried innards, and fried mushrooms. Bottom row is peanut pancake or Apom Balik, red bean balls, and mutton in sauce. Not shown here is our snacks for supper which were chickpeas and grapes (healthy choices lol). We also each had a drink of coconut water.
This is the picture of the night market. Just a simple small night market with lots of interesting local food and drink. It was a few rows of stalls and not very long. But ample choices anyway.
After a heavy dinner, we watched Game of Thrones on my laptop and chilled. Had the chickpeas and grapes, a welcome healthy alternative. At night when we sat outside to chill there were a few cats that came and played with us. I am not sure who they belonged to. The cats were fat and probably wanted food! Haha.
We checked out the next day at 12pm and headed back to KL, stopping by at Mitsui Outlet Park near KLIA for a shopping survey on the way.
It was an awesome trip and Liam said there are many more to come. We can go on road trips once in a while. I am so lucky and enjoying all of this. I am starting to enjoy road trips too and I am so excited to see what is in store for our next trip!
