Today for lunch I had a banana smoothie. I am doing intermittent fasting so I am supposed to stop eating at 12am and start eating again at 4pm - 16 hours fasting. But I can't tolerate the hunger pangs during the day so I just start eating at 2pm.
Anyway, we have lots of frozen bananas in the freezer because when we went to my grandpa's house in Melaka, we took back more than we could conceivably finish. Now the bananas are finished but we still have the frozen ones.
So I made myself a smoothie with the frozen bananas. Below are the ingredients. The taste all depends on the almond milk. I bought this almond milk from a Korean convenience shop. It was really expensive and only come in a small, single use carton. It tastes pretty good and I have no complaints other than the price.
I kinda want to try making my own almond milk as it is expensive and hard to get here. Apparently all you need is a cup of almonds, water and a cheesecloth. I wanted to try making it but my mom said almonds are really expensive so that cup of almonds may even be more expensive than store bought almond milk! Yeap... nuts are expensive here.
So below are the ingredients I used. They are 2 frozen bananas, almond milk, rolled oats, maple syrup and vanilla (mixed together). I blended these all up and got a cup of smoothie.
It was quite yum but thick and I was frustrated drinking it through this small straw so I ate it with a spoon in the end. I mainly made it because it is healthy. I never got on board with the smoothies trend. I am not into it I guess. Anyway, it was surprisingly good for a smoothie! I don't mind making this again if not for expensive almond milk.
