Last Sunday, my brother came back to visit and took us out for dinner to a hotpot place in Taman Taynton. It is called Coco Steamboat and is at a corner shoplot in Taman Bukit Hijau, Taman Taynton. My brother really wanted us to try it as he had it before and thought we might like it. We usually eat steamboat nearer to our house. This was something new.
I am not sure what style it is. It's not Japanese or Korean. Think it is just unique. They have 3 types of soup for the hotpot, but everyone chooses the milky one. It has pork bone and beef bone in the soup! Each pot has it.
Sad to say, I broke my vegan diet just for that night. But it was worth it! I was craving meat that day and I did eat all the meat. We ordered the basic set and added on like 10 dishes. There was sliced beef as shown below and these cooked really quickly in the soup.
There were also meat balls, dumplings and chunks of meat. We saved the yee mee for last. For the veg we had watercress and swiss chard. OMG lovely veggies! I might try to buy swiss chard soon. We also had fried tau pok. It was deep fried and was nice.

The soup was delish and adding in the fried garlic added another level of yum. Overall it was a good experience. The noise level in the restaurant was kinda noisy as it was crowded. Means it is good! I am up for trying new restaurants anytime. Wish I could find delicious vegan food. I just have to figure a way to accommodate my vegan diet. Once a month I guess I can eat meat. But it has to be worth it!
