So far been vegan for more than a week and I show no signs of slowing down. The first few days I felt tired coz not enough vitamin B but I bought nutritional yeast and it kind of helps. Basically I slept earlier and took naps, but I'm ok now.
I eat home cooked food and when I go out to eat, I order vegetables. I miss chocolate though. I can't eat that. I always read food labels and see if they contain milk or other animal products. I can't eat mayonnaise.
When Diyana invited me to her house for Hari Raya, she cooked plain potato, roti paratha and lettuce.
Below is almond milk that I got delivered from Jaya Grocer. That is some expensive stuff! The 2 bottles were RM11 and RM14. It tasted alright, but I prefer the almond milk in Canada.
Below is the nutritional yeast. It tastes like cheese and I put it on bread or eat with rice. Good for getting vitamin B. Apparently that's an issue for vegans. My mom cooks dinner and now that I'm vegan she has to cook a vegan dish for me as well, like tofu. Thanks mom!
Anyway, I will continue to be a vegan for now. It is quite easy for me at the moment. It is surprising how many foods I can't eat, but also surprising how I can cope with that and find things to eat. There is no end to our resourcefulness!Labels: vegan
