Outing to Pasar Seni

Last Sunday, I went to meet my friend Celeste at Pasar Seni. We had planned it for weeks but I had to cancel once because of the car boot sale. Another friend, Kari was also supposed to attend but she cancelled. Even though I still had the flu, I braved it and went, as I didn't want to cancel again! Anyway, Celeste already had the flu so I felt better about it somewhat. I was glad I went as I learnt plenty of things! And got some really good deals... It was awesome!

Anyway, I took the MRT to Pasar Seni station. I came out the LRT exit, which I didn't really plan to. Celeste met me quickly and we went to eat lunch. We had lunch at a chicken rice place and I had pork rice. It was alright in price, I can't really recall. Then we had coffee at a mamak and caught up. It was alright in price too. I had Nescafe ais.

We ate somewhere around here. Election flags up already

Celeste said earlier in the morning, she went to a flea market around the area at Pasar Seni. I thought that was fascinating, as I am into that now. She said it opens early in the morning and closes by 10.30am. By then it had already closed. Celeste said she bought a backpack type bag for RM2 and a pair of trousers for RM2! I gasped, awestruck... Where can you find a deal that good? My crafty mind started thinking of buying things there and reselling them at the car boot sale. Once I finished selling my own things, of course. If I sell them for RM5, it is a markup of RM3 I guess... Idk if it's worth it though... only a few RM after all.

After our drink, we went to Celeste's usual salon where she wanted to dye her hair. Ad hoc, I said I wanted to dye mine too. Celeste pays her hairdresser all of RM16 to get her hair done! OMG! She said she buys her own hair dye and passes it to the hairdresser. She touches up her roots every 3 weeks, she said. I didn't have hair dye so I had to use the hairdresser's for which they will charge me.

Anyway, they quoted me RM 20 at first. Then they complained my hair was very thick. And they had to use another box of hair dye.... so they quoted me RM35.... 😡I reluctantly said okay but only because of how cheap it was and because they opened 2 boxes of dye. Celeste said they took advantage of me. How can they do that? The hair dye only costs RM3 she said. By then I had already locked in the price. I didn't know the dye was so cheap or I would have bargained. My hair turned out pretty alright. The dye was slightly reddish, but other than that it looked fine. At least my roots were covered. In a normal salon it would cost more than RM100 to dye my hair, so I got a pretty good deal.

RM3 hair dye

Anyway, after getting our hair done, Celeste showed me where she bought her hair dye for RM3. It was a cool cheap shop. It had many household items for various prices. I browsed a little while Celeste bought some supplies like tissue paper. I saw some cheap items and some ok-priced items. Then, near the cashier I saw aromatherapy oils for RM5. I smelled them and they were decent. They smelled fresh, like shampoo or car air freshener. I chose 2 as I wasn't sure if they were legit, and I could always come back for more. I chose water lily and apple spice. Not bad.

After shopping, we had another drink at a mamak and Celeste had roti canai. I didn't eat, just drank teh o ais limau. I should not be drinking cold drinks actually. Should drink more hot things to help my flu.

When we were done, Celeste brought me to the correct exit for the MRT and told me that's where I should exit next time so I wouldn't have to walk far. It was also near the Rapid Bus that she takes. I hope I can meet up with her again soon. She is a really fun person and showed me those good deals! Maybe next time we can go to the flea market. It was a good day and I am glad I went.
