Today I finally went to Muji in Mid Valley. It is not new, but I only just was interested in it as I wanted to buy a bullet journal (yes, I know... it's already March)...
Anyway, Muji here is upmarket and premium. Not what I expected. In the US it is quite cheap if the YouTube videos are anything to go by.
They sell all sorts of things. From the outside it looks like a boutique and lifestyle store. There are things like diffusers and cosmetics at the front. To the right are all the clothes and upstairs is their stationery and household items like containers and bedsheets.
I saw that their diffuser looks exactly like the one I bought from Lazada! But it was priced at RM349! Mine from Lazada costs RM59. Of course the Muji one is more powerful and the stream of mist is very prominent. Mine is just a low cost dupe and I will not be able to afford the Muji one.
Upstairs I checked out their bedlinen and they look really nice. I like the one below but it costs RM179. I would be able to afford it if I budget for it. But I am not a fan of duvet cases as my duvet inner is quite plasticky and won't stick to the duvet case and it always falls out of place. I prefer proper duvets. Hmm... will have to think about it.
I saw their stationery collection was ok. It was modest compared to the their flagship store in the US of course, but still having a good few rows. I saw their coloured pens were ok. I wanted to buy the journal only anyway. It is dotted paper which I couldn't find elsewhere. Dotted paper is easy to journal with as you can draw squares on it. The cover was plain, just white.. which is okay for me.
I also bought their 0.38 pen just to see what the hype was all about. It was a great pen. It is very precise and the tip is thin enough to write or draw well with. The bullet journal was RM17.90 and the black pen was RM3.90, with the total coming to RM21.80. It was quite affordable.
Anyway, I got what I wanted from Muji and had a good day out with my parents. They didn't buy anything. But was it fun hanging out at the mall with them. After that we went back to near our house to eat at Burger King. It was a good experience and I have checked it off my list so it's a win-win.Labels: productivity, shopping, stationery
