Outside our house is an evergreen plant that we never thought would flower. But to our pleasant surprise, some white flowers started forming on the plant.
Dracaena Fragrans is the name of the plant. It is quite a common plant. It is fairly tall, like a tree. The flowers were white at first then they turned reddish the next day. Below is the flower when it was reddish.
Below is the pic when it was white. It smells really nice in the night time and my mom explained that it is only fragrant in the night time when it blooms. It smells sweet and floral.
The flowers are all reddish now and are fading. They were only fragrant while white. Strange. Anyway, I was pleased that this green plant flowered. Recently the aloe vera flowered too! And I didn't think aloe vera could flower. Real nice! Must be the fertile soil or rainy weather... How nice...Labels: flowers, garden
