I have seen these pink flowers around all my life and never once thought of the name. It is called desert rose and I think it sounds like a song name. I just learnt this name because my mom had a pod of their seeds and showed me. They are so interesting and cool.
Basically their seeds come from a pod like the one above. Inside, there are seeds attached to fluffy wispy ends. They fly around when the wind blows and are what the plants use for pollination.
Below is a single seed and you can see the fluffy ends that enable the seed to fly in the wind, or parachute to the ground. Imagine them all flying in the air like that if my mom allowed it. Luckily she plucked the pod and put the seeds into a container for further use next time. Overall I think they are really cute and the flowers are really pretty and bright. Nice, and I'm glad I got to know more about them.
