Caramelized bananas

Today I decided to make pan fried bananas. These are almost the last of our bananas from my grandparents. We enjoyed them for a week now and then we have to go back to buying bananas like normal people without a farm in their hometown. 😄

In the recipe I read, they are supposed to be crispy but that is unachievable with our over-ripe bananas. I have to settle for something more like caramelized bananas. Below is the recipe.

Caramelized Bananas

Ingredients
Directions
  1. Slice the bananas
  2. Melt the butter in the pan then add the honey and cinnamon and mix them around.
  3. On medium heat, drop in the banana slices and fry until caramalized
  4. Flip over the bananas and fry on the other side.
  5. Serve with a scoop of ice cream if you want

It seems like a stew the way they turned out as they were over-ripe. They are brown because of the caramelized honey and butter. They were soft and gooey and went well with a scoop of ice cream!

It is desserts like these that make me glad vanilla ice cream was invented! It is a nice dessert and is quite sweet so probably skip it if you're diabetic.

I will make one last thing with the bananas and that is banana choc chip oatmeal! I hope I can have it for brunch soon! This will be the last of the bananas, but we will get more soon I hope.
