Today I was quite busy doing household things. I cleaned and mopped my room, then made Peanut Butter Choc Chip Cups and Caramel Pecan Cups. In the evening, I painted my nails, then went for dinner with Fai and at night I dyed my hair using box hair dye.
So when I made the 2 types of cups, I used the same Marie Biscuit base for both cups. I crumbled the Marie biscuits down to biscuit crumbs by putting the biscuits into a sealed plastic bag then crushing the biscuits up with a water bottle. Then I melted butter in the microwave and mixed it with the biscuit crumbs and added sugar. I mixed it all up evenly then put it into the individual wrappers and pressed them down.
For the peanut butter cups, I mixed a few tablespoons of peanut butter with chocolate chips and spooned the mixture into some of the cups on top of the biscuit layer.
For the caramel pecan cups, I toasted a few pecans and broke it up into chunks and put a bit in each cup on top of the biscuit layer. Then I made a caramel sauce and spooned it on top of the pecans.
After that I put it all in the fridge to set for a few hours.
The result was alright. Although the caramel was a bit too sweet. I put too much caramel and it was really sugary. The texture was quite sugary as well. I think I need to re-think the caramel sauce ratios so that each time I get the right texture.
I won't put the recipe here because I made it all up and improvised. I can't even remember how much I put for each ingredient. But I think from the description you can sort of guess how to go about it.
Overall it was a good day. I got a lot done. After dying my hair, my hair is darker now and my brown tips are gone. I guess it's time for a change.Labels: desserts, recipe, snacks, tea time
