Yesterday my mom whipped up an awesome feast for dinner. My brother came to visit. The meal was awesome! And my mom is an expert so it didn't take long to prepare. Only the black pork dish took many hours to cook and she made it 2 days before so the meat had time to absorb the flavours.
Below are the dishes. The one on the top left is bitter gourd with salted egg. So yummy. Top right is a black meat dish. It is pork and had a lot of pork fat. My mom already trimmed away lots of the fat, but left some on there thankfully. It was delish!
Bottom left is petai prawn sambal. The petai is from my grandfather's farm. Omg, I love petai! And the prawns were so painstakingly peeled as well. The taste of the sambal was good too. Bottom right is a normal cauliflower dish but cooked really well too. Very soft and cooked through. We also had a side of cucumbers and cherry tomatoes so we get enough fibre. Nutritious meal too!
I wish I could cook like my mom! That's one of the good things about living at home. Get to eat great home cooked food!
