Iced Caramel Macchiato


Today I decided to make an Iced Caramel Macchiato. Basically it is a cup of iced expresso with a splash of milk, topped with caramel sauce.

I made the caramel sauce by heating some brown sugar, butter and a tablespoon of milk in the microwave. It has to be runny and liquid so it can dissolve in the iced coffee.

So I used instant coffee to make the expresso. Then I poured it over some ice in a cup. Then splashed in some UHT milk. Then I poured in the caramel sauce. I took a photo then stirred it.

It was really simple. Although I think I should use less milk next time. I don't tolerate dairy well. It was sweet enough for me but I think it's not as sweet as the iced caramel latte you get at Starbucks. We had it with the grilled cheese sandwich!
