Chocolate fudge dessert for friends' gathering

Today I had a long anticipated gathering with my highschool friends at a friend's condo. I was wondering what to bring as I was in charge of bringing dessert. Turns out I really wanted to make chocolate fudge after trying a healthy chocolate fudge in a previous blog post. I wanted to try the unhealthy version, with chocolate chips and condensed milk. And my friends were the guinea pigs!

So I made a 3 ingredient choc fudge. Below is the recipe from Foodie and Wine website. They have a 3 Ingredient Easy Chocolate Fudge recipe. I must admit, the reason for choosing this to bring to my friend's gathering was because it was easy. Yup, I am so lazy. It was ready in 5 minutes and set overnight.

I was not totally happy with the final product's texture as it was really sticky and not firm despite chilling overnight in the fridge. So when everyone ate it it was a gooey mess. Poor friends. My bad. I actually cut it but it was still so sticky when everyone took their piece.

Ingredients
2 cups chocolate chips
14 oz condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1.  Line a 9x9 tray with baking paper
  2. Place chocolate chips and condensed milk in a bowl and combine.
  3. Microwave for 1 minute and stir
  4. If the chocolate isn't smooth, microwave for another 30 sec as needed
  5. Fold in the vanilla until combined
  6. Pour smooth chocolate into the pan and refridgerate for at least 1 hour (or overnight)
  7. Cut into 1"x1" squares and enjoy.
The fudge kept quite well on the journey to my friend's house. It was a nice dessert and the taste was good, despite being too sticky. At least I got to go to a nice lunch party hosted by my friend!
