Vanilla Cream Frappuccino

Today I was making a banana cream pie. (Watch out for the next banana cream pie post coming up!). I had poured out milk for the pie but didn't use it all as I was afraid the pie would be too runny. I couldn't trust the recipe at the time although I should have followed it and added all the milk. Since it was poured out I couldn't put it back and had to either drink it or put it in the fridge to use in another recipe.

I had been wanting to make something like this after I saw it on Pinterest. Basically a copycat frappuccino. I was inspired by it but didn't follow the recipe too closely. I have not had the Starbucks version so I can't comment how close it is to the original.

In the end it was wonderful! I really liked it because the ice made it so light and airy. It was easy to drink through a straw and it was slushy and nice!

Basically, how I made it is I put 1 cup of ice, some milk and 3 scoops of coconut ice cream (you can use vanilla) into a blender and blended it until smooth and the ice had been crushed. I then added a quarter teaspoon of vanilla, blended some more and called it a day. I put it in a tall glass and voila! A refreshing light drink! Below is the recipe.

Ingredients
1 cup ice cubes
2/3 of a cup of milk
3 scoops of vanilla or coconut ice cream (or ice cream of your choice for that matter)
1/4 teaspoon of vanilla essence

Directions

  1. Blend all the ingredients together until just smooth
  2. Pour into a glass and drink immediately.

Overall it was a great drink. It was just what I wanted. I hope you stay tuned for the banana cream pie tomorrow and thanks for reading!
