Yesterday night I went to a café I had wanted to try for some time. I went with Fai at around 9pm. I was just curious about this hipster looking café. Since Fai was bored and I was adventurous we checked it out.
It is called iI, pronounced i One. It is located near my house in a row of shophouses I usually pass by on my way out. It is more of a coffee hang out than a restaurant. They serve only beverages like coffee and tea, and cakes in their cake display unit. No real food.
The decor was quite simple and trendy. It was quite pricey. The cakes were upwards of RM10 and so were the drinks. For a place in this area, it is considered expensive. However the cakes looked good. And they had a wide variety of drinks.
I ordered an iced chocolate drink and coconut mango cake. The drink was delicious, like chocolate milk. And the cake had lots of cream in between the layers. Kind of like the peach birthday cake I made, except with mango. I am not sure if the cream was coconut cream or dairy cream with coconut flavouring. Probably the latter I think. Anyway it was good. The iced chocolate was RM13 and so was the cake. Fai didn't want to order a drink and had a small curry chicken donut. It was alright. It was RM6.
Overall, this place has good cakes and drinks. I have not tried their coffee but it should be good. I liked the cake and the drink but it is a little too expensive.Labels: cakes, drinks, eating out
