Last week I went with my parents to Sunway Velocity mall on Jalan Peel in Cheras. We went to take a look-see as it is a fairly new mall and we wanted to have a look since it is quite near in our neighbourhood. It is within the vicinity of Aeon Big and Jusco in Maluri. Near here on Jalan Cochrane is also Ikea Cheras. I was quite excited to go as I have been pestering people to go with me for weeks. It didn't disappoint.
I was surprised at how big it is. They have many clothing and beauty boutiques from international brands. I saw H&M, Marks and Spencer, The Face Shop, Uniqlo, and Cotton on... just to name a few. All my favourite shops. Mark's and Spencer food was really nice, and we saw lots of confectionery and bread. My mom bought some white bread in a big loaf. Very nice.
We saw Parkson but didn't go in. I should have went in. It spanned a few floors and was very big. Just didn't want to get lost or go crazy in there so better not. Not that I can afford anything anyway. I didn't have a shopping list or had anything to buy.
Then we went for lunch at a mamak out on the boardwalk. My dad had nasi kandar, my mom had mi goreng and I had Maggi goreng. It was quite palatable. Not bad. My dad doesn't like to eat at expensive places. We did see a NY Steakshack and Pasta Zanmai but of course we didn't eat there. My dad is right anyway. Should save money on food. Don't eat at fancy places. The food is just as good as anywhere else. Cheap and good.
Just before going home, we walked into Miniso. I remembered it from our Shanghai trip when me and my bro went crazy in that shop. Here in Malaysia, Miniso is more expensive and it wasn't as impressive as my first visit. It was ok but I didn't buy anything here.
Overall it was a good trip to the mall. It is a decent mall, and I am not as materialistic as I used to be so I didn't really shop. I still like malls as a place to meet friends, eat and buy essentials. I had a good time chilling with mom and dad here. Will probably come here again soon, if I need to buy anything I can't get near my house. Or just with my mom if she decides to come here to shop.Labels: eating out, shopping
