Chocolate chip cookies

I have been meaning to bake chocolate chip cookies ever since I saw a recipe on Pinterest. It was called "Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies".

It seemed simple enough so I decided to give it a go. It was a simple recipe and I just mixed all the ingredients together in a bowl then formed cookies and baked them in a small oven. I made a small batch. Only 8 medium sized cookies. I have heard of some people freezing cookie dough and have it ready to bake in small batches. I might try that.

It turned out quite well although it had rather too much egg and it was a bit soft... ie. not crunchy. The middle was a bit soft and tasted like a scone. The chocolate chips were really nice though I should have put more.

Overall it turned out better than I expected. I would use this recipe again. Maybe for a bigger batch then freeze it.

Below is the recipe for a small batch that I have adapted from the Pinterest recipe I mentioned. I changed it a bit to suit my taste.

Ingredients
1 cup flour
90g butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 large egg or 1 small egg (or a bit less)
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup chocolate chips

Cream sugar and butter in a bowl. Mix the dry ingredients together. Beat the egg and pour in together with the vanilla and dry ingredients into the bowl. Add chocolate chips. Mix it up and the dough should be soft. Form small cookies and bake in the oven at 170 Celsius for 10-15 minutes until crunchy and browned.
