Second spiciest pan mee

Today out of the blue, Fai called and asked me to eat dinner. He had said he was busy today so I was going to eat my mom's dinner, letting him do his own things. Then he called so we went out. We went to a wantan mee shop near Leisure Mall called Shi Fu Wantan Mee. I had eaten wantan mee there before and it was nice. I liked the thick flat noodles.

Today however, I was feeling very adventurous so I wanted to try the "Second Spiciest Pan Mee". I wasn't going to try the World's Spiciest... coz I don't want to get a runny nose.

Anticipating lots of spiciness, I ordered 2 drinks. The milk tea and chinchau. They were nice. The chin chau drink had generous amounts of grass jelly.

When it came, I saw it had lots of anchovies, fried onions and other crunchy things. It looked crunchy in texture and had lots of chilli flakes. It had ground meat or beef and a side of soup. It had an egg in it which I stirred into the noodles. The soup was very plain and just had egg and some green leaves in it. The pan mee noodles were thick and chunky. I think it was cooked more than al dente though, so was over done. But the taste and flavour were nice. It was rather hot towards the end of the meal as I had overloaded my tastebuds with spiciness.

Fai tried the noodles and said it was too spicy and he drank a lot of his milk tea. Fai ordered the thick, flat wantan mee noodles. I didn't take a photo of his food because he already attacked it before I had a chance.

Fai also ordered fried wantans which we shared. It was just normal for me.

After the meal, we went to pay and it was RM35.20 for us both. Quite ok. I think I prefer this shop's wantan mee than spicy pan mee. But at least I tried the world's second spiciest pan mee! And survived! What a show off... Seems like a stunt I put on.
