Crudites

Today I was feeling very sloppy. I had woken up too late, felt like I had overslept and was tired. It's true that too much sleep is bad. I felt like I had not worked on the things I needed to. Like learning from Coursera, and learning more about photography. Coursera is a cool learning site called a MOOC. (Massive Open Online Course).

So I tried to get moving and plan my day. I made a list of all the habits I want like meditation, exercise, reading, learning, diet, career stuff... I found that I needed to have a daily routine. Rituals and things built into my daily schedule. I still didn't feel motivated so I googled how to set myself up for success. I found many tips. One of them was to fuel my body with clean foods. A larger meal would make me sluggish, is what they said. Also, intermittent fasting is supposed to be good for the body. And exercise goes without saying.

For the productivity advice, I read that making a set time to work, and doing the important things first during the day would help. So now, I want to put a star on my to-do list in order to identify the most important things to get done early in the day so I get the feeling of having it out of the way. Another is to just start something, not worrying about all the details and trying to get it all perfect.

I also found out that taking care of myself means keeping myself happy doing fun things. So things like chatting with friends or family, watching a tv show I love and games like colouring, word searches and sudoku would help. Even something as simple as browsing Pinterest or playing a game on my phone would make me happy. Because no one wants me to be a grouch.

Later I read about eating veggies, which are a big part of eating clean. I read about crudites, which are vegetables with a dip and are soooo healthy. Basically it is a few chunks of vegetables like celery or carrot, eaten with a dip like salsa, guacamole or hummus. I love those dips!

So after dinner today, I made my crudites. Here are the pics. I really liked how they turned out.

It is basically salsa with celery sticks. Here is how I made my basic salsa -

1 tomato
half an onion
a bit of capsicum
a squeeze of lemon juice
salt
pepper

First I cut up the tomato, capsicum and onions into small cubes. Then I added a bit of lemon juice, salt and pepper and stirred, setting it aside. I left it to sit after dinner for about half an hour. Or you can eat it straight away. I ate my salsa with celery sticks.

Yummy! I feel I could eat this as a snack for supper and be so healthy!
